MEET OUR GUIDES

JOSHUA JARRíN, IFMGA

Joshua was born in Ecuador where he started to enjoy the mountains at the age of 10. The desire to spend some good time with friends on the mountains has taken him all around the world. He has been fortunate enough to climb along the Andes, in North America and the Himalaya, as well as guiding in Europe. When he decided to become a mountain guide, there was no international training in his country. It took him seven years of efforts at all levels, including travels to Bolivia, France and Argentina until he achieved the IFMGA diploma. Later in his career, his colleagues elected him technical director of the ASEGUIM (Ecuador Mountain Guide’s Association) and they were able to bring the international training to Ecuador and therefore give access to that recognition to the future generations of aspiring guides. Nowadays he lives in the US where he serves as instructor for the AMGA (American Mountain Guide’s Association). Joshua tries to use his position to serve as a mentor for future mountains guides, especially those who come from BIPOC populations.

JOSUE DE LUNA NAVARRO

Josue was born in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, and grew up in New Mexico, where the mountains became a central part of his life. He found in the outdoors a space for challenge, reflection, and connection—an influence that continues to shape both his personal pursuits and professional path. He is a community-focused outdoor professional who specializes in designing and leading outdoor programming for organizations. His work centers on creating meaningful, accessible experiences that foster leadership, resilience, and connection through time in the mountains. Josue holds certifications as an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor, Wilderness First Responder, Avalanche Professional, and Apprentice Alpine & Ski Guide.
